When you are balding, your options are to get hair replacement surgery or the non-surgical method. The former entails a lot of budget, undergoes a surgical procedure, done by professional surgeon. You need to have enough hair left as donor to make the surgery possible. The results will be permanent and natural looking. Non-surgical method on the other hand, is the attachment of hair prostheses on the head. It could be made of hairpiece or extensions. This is done by stylist in salons.

The result makes you look like you got your natural hair back. So far, this is the most affordable and safest method as it only requires external unit to be attached on the head. This is the reason why most people with balding case opt to get non-surgical method.

When you live with non-surgical hair replacement, you are required to have lifetime maintenance for it. This is unless you can get your hair back naturally. However, if you are already balding due to inevitable condition such as genetics, you need to spend amount on maintenance.

When your hairpiece is attached by semi-permanent bond, you will need to remove and clean it after 4-6 weeks. This is because you need to clean the scalp underneath it. Also the hairpiece needs to be washed to remove adhesive residue and have it cleaned. At the end, you would need assistance from specialist to reattach the unit.

For extensions, you need hair technicians who will do the weaving on your existing hair. Extensions are attached through sewing. Eventually it would need reattachment and tightening after 6 to 8 weeks. Before the period of maintenance, you can bath with it but you need to be careful not to damage it.

Generally, non-surgical hair replacement requires maintenance as this is good as artificial. However, you can look great with it as there are units that look natural. And when it is attached professionally, no one will truly know that it is just a hairpiece.
