Stop Hair Loss – Or Do You Like Being Bald?

Hair loss is something that affects most people sometime during the course of their life. There are multiple causes of hair loss in women and men and each individual will react differently to coping with their hair loss.

Some men are known for their bald heads and are not interested in growing their hair back or stopping further hair loss. Some men will do a ‘comb over’ which only accentuates the state of their hair especially when the wind blows it around. Women generally take hair loss harder than men will. It can become a real emotional issue for those affected. You won’t find many women that are happy with thinning hair or bald spots.

Of course, we all know cancer patients who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. For most of these patients, their hair will grow back once cancer treatment has ceased. Some (particularly women) will opt to wear a head covering or a wig to hide the baldness. Some will embrace it. Everyone deals with it in their own way.

So why do men and women lose hair if not due to medical treatments? For some, hair loss may be due to a hormonal imbalance. Thyroid gland problems can also cause hair to fall out or thin. Some people will experience hair loss due to heredity and others due to certain medications. Diseases, poor diet, caustic hair treatments and hair pulling can all cause some hair loss.

The medical term for hair loss is alopecia. About 1/3 of men and women will experience permanent hair loss and though many males may go completely bald, complete baldness is rare in women. And how many hairs do we normally have? Each person has about 100,000 hairs on their head. I don’t recommend you count them as that would be rather time consuming and difficult! During the course of 24 hours, a person will typically lose 50 to 100 hairs. Some go down the sink, stay on your pillow, fall on the floor or are stuck in your brush. Most of us would be hardpressed to find those 50 to 100 hairs!

How do people experiencing hair loss cover it up? Some opt not to. Others will use a wig or a head covering of some sort.

But if they don’t want to cover it up, some will use products to help them grow it back. One such product is Provillus hair loss treatment for men and women. This product takes a natural approach and therefore will not be harsh on ones head. After all, one does not want to lose even more hair!
